Book Review 2-14 "The railway Children"

It is a story about poor children. It related in western history. I think many people are living happily in Japan, but may be it is wrong. I don’t know other people’s real feelings, so however I think he will be happy, I don’t know the answer. Poor is hard to live, but money is not only important thing in the world. I learned lots things through the story. Especially, I learned importance our families. We can’t live alone, whenever you think you are living by yourself, your family is helping you something to. I have to appreciate what my family done for me. In the story, common hardships knitted the family together. Tie is very important thing for us to live. It was pretty good story. Book Review 2-13 "The Dragon Painter"

This story is interesting. In china, dragon is famous imagination creature. Once upon a time, there was a good painter, and one day, a king let him painting 3 dragons. He painted these dragons on the wall. However, he didn’t paint their dragon’s eyes because he thought painting eye dragon will have soul and become the real world from the imagination world. So, he didn’t paint their eyes, but the king didn’t think so like the painter, so he ordered the painter writing these dragon’s eyes.

The painter didn’t want to paint that, but he obeyed the king. As soon as the painter painted their eyes, the sky get dark and strong wing was brewing. Everyone couldn’t believe their eyes because there were 3 real dragons. 3 dragons were so strong and they begun to break houses, temples and so on. The king said to the painter to do something.

The painter thought a few minutes, and he began something painting on the wall. He painted some strong chain around the 3 dragon’s body. After that, these 3 dragons couldn’t move because of the chain and these dragons went back the imagination world.

It was good story, don’t you think so? I want to see dragon, but I feel it scared for me. If dragons appeared before me, I’ll hide somewhere or run away as can as possible. I hope dragons are not scary but kind.

Book Review "Gulliver's Travels"

Do you know Gulliver? He is known by many people in Japan, too. Of course I know this story, but I don’t remember the story. Therefore I decided to read this book.

Gulliver liked to travel and adventures. One day, when he going to voyage by little ship, a storm raged and he dropped, but he swam for his life and he didn’t give up. When he opened his eyes, he saw some tiny people. He was arrived a tiny people’s world. Some people tried to kill Gulliver, but they couldn’t, because he was so big. Gulliver learned their language.

One day, a war occurred. Gulliver helped the tiny people, and he became their friend. However, Gulliver couldn’t eat full sized food, and he ate much tiny food, so it cost much money. Some people considered this problem and they decided to kill him. Gulliver made a plan to escape the tiny world. Barely, he backed his real world with a few coins and a couple of cows in the tiny world. A captain was astonished to see them!

It is amazing story. I heard this story have another stories. He may be going other worlds. For example, He may be going to the world of giant, the world of horses. If you know these stories, please teach me☆

Book Review 2-11 "Jack and the Beanstalk"

This is a story known by many people. I read this story when I was a child, and I like it. Do you know this story? It is a fish story. The title is “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Jack was poor and he didn’t have enough food, clothes. He lived with his mother and an old cow.

One day, his mother said to him to sell the caw to live, and Jack was going to sell the caw. On the half way, Jack met an old man and the old man said to him let’s exchange. The old man took out five dried beans from his pocket, and he added these beans were magic beans. Jack decided to exchange.

Jacked mother got angry because her need money not beans. She threw the beans to the ground. Jack felt foolish, and finally he fell asleep. Next day, he couldn’t believe his eyes because there was a massive plant. It was reaching the sky. Jack began to climb.

He was under go many things above the clouds. Finally, he found a giant. He had a hen which laid golden eggs. Jack stole the hen and he backed his house under clouds. Jack became rich because of the hen, but he thought there was more treasure above the clouds. He started climbing the plant again. Jack found a golden harp and tried to escape from the giant, but the giant chased Jack.

Under the clouds, Jack’s mother grabbed the saw and when Jack arrived to the ground, he pulled it and the plant fell down. And, no one ever saw the giant! After that Jack and his mother lived happily.

It was interesting story. If you have interest about this story, please read it! I hope you like it.

Book Review 2-10 "The Elves and the Shoemaker"

This is a fairy tale. I like this story. There was an old man and his job was making shoe. He made good shoes and everyone likes watching his job. He wasn’t rich, but he lived with his wife to enjoy his job.

One day, a man came to the city, and he started selling shoes and his shoes were very cheap. Everyone delighted the price. They could buy 2 pair of shoes for the price of one. The old man thought these shoes were awful, these shoes had bad leather, but other people didn’t realize that thing.

The shoemaker to sell cheap shoes always sold much shoes. The old man couldn’t understand why he could make these much shoes quickly. The old man had very little business due to the coming shoemaker. He couldn’t make enough shoes, so he bought leather to make a pair of shoes and he went to bed.

The next day, the old man surprised because there was a perfect pair of shoes. He couldn’t believe! In fact, it was elves work. The selling cheap shoes man has 14 elves and he let them to make much shoes. These elves wearing miserable clothes and they don’t wear shoes. The old man noticed these elves and he made clothes for elves.

The cheap shoes seller became have to leave the city because many people who bought his shoes were getting angry. His shoes broke after two days, so he decided to quite this job and elves relieve from him. It was good for 14 elves and the old man lived happily to make shoes by himself.

Book Review 2-9 "How Elephants lost their Wings "

This is a story about elephant’s history. A long time ago, elephants could fly and they were so noisy. They had wings and enjoyed flying the sky. However, you know elephants are so big, so when they fly into trees, they smashed them. And they landed on houses, so the gods thought they had to solve the problem. The gods gave much food for elephants and when elephants were sleeping, the gods took away their wings! Instead of their wings, the gods gave elephants peacocks and banana trees.

It is interesting story, don’t you think so? If elephants can fly, it must be cause troubles!!! However, I like Danbo. Do you know? He is an elephant. It was created by Disney. Danbo has big ear, so he can fly to use his big ear. Danbo looks cute, so I want to see a flying elephant once time and I want to ride on his back!

Book Review 2-8 "Jason and the golden fleece"

This is story of a man who became a king. His name is Jason and this book’s title is “JASON AND THE GOLDEN FLEECE.”

He lived in Greece and he was thought he will become a king of the island Iolcos. However, his Uncle had stolen his throne. One day, he met an old woman and the woman said to him Jason will become a great hero.

He went to Iolcos, but his uncle wasn’t pleased to see him. His uncle said if Jason brings him the presious Golden Fleece, his uncle gives him the throne. Jason decided to get them. Some people decided to go with Jason. For example, there was Atlanta, a beautiful huntress, Hercules, the strongest man in the world.

Few days past, they stopped at an island. There was a very big man who is the king. One of Jason’s crew fights him and won. Next, they met a wise old man. He was blind man and he said only if Jason gets rid of the Harpies, he give food for Jason and his crew and teach him what dangers Jason and his crew will meet. Jason and his crew fight them and all the Harpies were dead.

After few days, they were arrived Kingdome. Jason met the king, but the king didn’t want Jason to have the fleece. He had a cunning plan and he tried prevent Jason. However, the king’s daughter had fallen love with Jason on the spot. She thought she want to help Jason. She tried help him and Jason passed that the ling’s cunning plan.

After that, he found the Golden Fleece, but a massive oak had it. Jason and the king’s daughter, Medea tried to get it. At last, they got the Golden Fleece. They want to leave there as soon as possible, but the king chased them. He wanted to kill Jason. However, Jason survive thankful for Medea, they went back to Iolcos.

Jason’s uncle was surprised because he came back with the Golden Fleece. His uncle kept his word, so Jason became the king, and Jason and Medea were married. They lived there happily and admired by everyone!

Book Review 2-7 "The Monster Gang"

When I find this book, I thought it is monster gangs’ story. For example, a monster will become a gang or monsters fight to become the top of gangs. However, when I turned over the first page, there is a human boy. When I turned over next page, there are his friends, and next page was, too. I thought isn’t this book’s story about monsters. I decided keep reading and I am sure to find monsters!

First, young children were playing. They want to play something fun, but that day was rainy. They lay around at Ellie’s room or drew pictures, but they were bored soon. They wanted playing something fun. At then, Ben thought of a great idea. It was gang game.

They thought a gang needs a good name, so they tried to think of gang’s name. And, it decided Monster Gang! After that, they talked about gang. They thought gangs need special costumes, and they decide make their own costumes. They promised gather next morning.

The Next morning, they came wearing special costume like a monster. They clambered into a tree house. They didn’t recognize each other because they are wearing costumes and it hidden their faces. They made creepy bats and etc. out of papers. Then, they were hungry, so they had a monster feast. They munched.

They begun guess each other over eating. The Monster Gang members are six. They could guess five members easily, but a yellow gang was difficult to guess because this monster looked like real monster. Other members thought that monster may Ellie because there were no Ellie. They decided Ellie’s costume was the best. That yellow monster was elected a boss.

They went on playing like to made secret signs. At then, they heard a voice. Everybody knew that voice; it similar Ellie’s voice. But, it was impossible, because Ellie was there and the yellow monster must be her. They rushed to the door ASAP, and looked. Surprisingly, there was Ellie and she was real Ellie. She said she had to take her dag for a walk, so she was late. Other children were confused…

They scrambled back into the room, but there was no yellow monster already. There was a note instead of the monster, but they couldn’t read it because it didn’t make sense: it was not common letter. When Ruby face up, there was a mirror and he thought of an idea. When he held the note up to a mirror, they could read and it did make sense.
At finally, you can see the monster gang, can’t you? Do you want to know this note said? But I can’t write that letter because if I write that note, it considered I was copy that sentence. So, if you want to know all about this secret, please read this “The Monster Gang.”

Book Review 2-6 "The Incredible Present"

I read a book that title is “The Incredible Present.” Do you know this book? I will tell you about this story. This story is fantasy story.

There was a girl who named Lily. Her parents were different with other parents. They always had some crazy project underway, so she often cannot meet them. However, she was looking forward to get her birthday presents by her parents, because her parents every year give her very unique presents. Her guessing was right. Her parent’s send her a small bag but it wasn’t usual bag. It was magical bag. She can get whatever her want into the bag. It was made by her parents. However, it was not good. If she says she wants a bed-making robot, it was appeared but the robot didn’t do exactly what Lily had in mind. Next, she wanted a space buggy, but not exactly the space buggy she wanted, too. However, she only asked the small magical bag only 6 wishes, but her wishes didn’t come true exactly. However, finally, she met her parents. It was a greatest present for her!!!

This story is interesting. I don’t want this bag, because it doesn’t work exactly. However, if it works exactly, I want it, but I can’t decide.

Book Review 2-5 "The Emperor’s New Clothes"

I read this book that title is “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. Do you know this story? It is famous story in Japan, too. I think you have read this story once at least. When I was a little child, I read it several times.

This story is funny and it is a stupid emperor’s story. You can listen to this story with CD. Now, I’ll explain about this story… If you know this story, you needn’t read next 4 paragraphs. Please skip that.

Long time ago, there was an emperor, and he really loved clothes. He didn’t care about other things, he only care just his clothes. He had seven thousand, three hundred and twenty-two outfits! However, he never want to wear he wore once, so he suggested his servant, Boris, to find the finest clothes-makers in town.

Boris spend much time every day to find that person the emperor ordered, and one day, he found them, because two strangers rushed up to him and said they’re the finest clothes-makers in the world. Soon, Boris took them in a palace. Professed the finest clothes-makers in the world said they made magical clothes. According to them, these looked invisible clothes if anyone stupid saw. The emperor was very excited and he handing them a sack of money…

After that, those two men laughed. They couldn’t help laughing because it was a flat lie! They pretended to make clothes, but Boris couldn’t see it. Boris believed their lie, so he pretended to see that cloth, because he didn’t want to be presumed stupid. It applied other his feudatories and it same for the emperor, too.

The emperor went out in town, there were many people. Everyone had heard that only clever people could see his clothes, so people admired his clothes in chorus, but a small child said the emperor’s got nothing on! Then, his father agreed him and faster than a spreading fire, a whisper whizzed through the crowd. As the emperor heard their whisper, he felt cold and he saw that they were right. At that time, tow cheats cackled with glee.

It was very funny story. Since a long time ago, it is saying like that is an emperor says right, whatever it was wrong, it became right. This story’s interest thing is only a child could say right thing honestly. Adult have prepossession, and very know logic. In contrast children are unbiased and pure. The boy didn’t know well about logic, but he knows other things like saying what he thought right! It is very important thing to against if it was wrong.

I’m very tired to write this… It took much time…

Book Review 2-4"Charlie and the chocolate factory"

I read this “Charlie and the chocolate factory” last week, but it was little difficult for me, but I have watched same movie once. Therefore, I could understand. Do you know this story? This story’s hero is Charlie. He is a boy and he lived with his parents and his grandfathers and grand mothers, and his family is not rich. Frankly speaking, he is poor rather than rich.

He likes chocolate and one day, he got a chance. That chance was he could go a chocolate factory!!! That chocolate factory’s owner was so strange man. At there, he met that strange owner and experience mysterious happens.

It was long story I’ve ever rent books in this KGU library. It made me tired, but it was very good time for me. If you have enough time, would you try this book?

Book Review 2-3 "The Magical Book"

I read this book. This story was so nice. I have never read this story, so this is first time for me to read it.
This story is fairy tale. One day. A boy became a King. Then, he found a old book. He really wanted to read that book, but a chancellor didn’t accept to read that book because that book was not safe. He didn’t know that mean. In fact, the book was magic book. He opened the book and some animals found up the page. He enjoyed it, but one day, a dragon stepped from the book and flew away! The dragon ate everything, so a boy was utterly miserable. He decided to do something and he opened the book once more.
Then, “Hippogriff” was found up in the book. He looked like a horse, except for one thing. He had two enormous feathery wings. They fight to the dragon, and finally, they won the dragon! Fortunately, everything that was eaten by the dragon was safe and they came back their house. And, the dragon back into the book!
I like this story and I enjoyed reading because I have never read this story. I want to read this magic book, but I don’t want to meet the dragon like him!

Book Review 2-2

I read this book that title is "The Dragon and the Phoenix." There were a dragon and a phoenix. The dragon lived beside a magic river and the phoenix lived deep inside the forest. They lived each other's place. One day, they met and they found a shiny pebble on the sand. They washed and polished it. And the pebble became a pearl. They loved it and treat it very carefully. But, the Queen of Heaven saw the pearl because the pearl shone brighter than stars and the sun. She wanted to that pearl and she sent a guard to steal it. In the morning, the dragon and the phoenix was surprised because, the pearl was gone. They looked in a river and the dark forest but, they couldn't find there. Then, they find it in the sky. They quarreled with the queen. At the time, the pearl fell from the sky. It became a shiny lake and the dragon and the phoenix lay beside the lake and, and they are still there
now...

I enjoyed reading this book very much. I was surprised when I read last sentence. It was that the dragon and phoenix are still there. I thought it is fantastic story.

Book Review 2-1

I read this book that title is "Clever Rabbit and the Lion." I introduce this book. Long time ago, there was a lion. He had very big paws and sharp claws. He thought he was a king of that jungle. He was haughty, so haughty. He wanted to eat all animals except him.

Other animals didn't like him and they frightened about him because that lion was very big and he had great paws and claws. They feared to eaten by him. But, there was a clever rabbit. He said he had a plan. Next day, he came up at the lion. Soon, the lion said he want to eat him. But, the rabbit said to him there are another great lion in that jungle. The haughty lion was suspected. He thought he is a only lion in that jungle. The rabbit want on to say, another lion is greater. The rabbit led the haughty lion to the deep and wide river. The rabbit said a great lion was lived there. The haughty lion looked into the deep river; he found a lion on that river. However, of course, it was his face. His face was reflected on that river like a reflex mirror, but the lion didn't realize. He leaped in the river... and he was nearly drowned. He said help me but there were no animals to help him. The lion was never came back that jungle.

I thought the lion is poor. I can't say anything about this story because it is difficult for me to say about it. I like happy end but it is not real happy end for me. I wish this lion was helped by animals and he changed, after that, they lived together happily.

Book Review 1-15"The Frog Prince"

I read “The Frog Prince” yesterday. This book comes with a CD. I really enjoyed reading this book over CD.

This story was fantasy tale. There was a princess. She was furious and selfish girl. She had a bad problem. The problem was that her father (as it were called King) decided her husband already. She didn’t want to marry him because he was smelly and smug and slimier than a frog. I agree with her. I can’t marry my parents decide. We should decide our marriage partner ourselves, but, in fact, she was not mentioned about this. She worried about his looks and physical problem. She said the King (her father) she couldn’t marry him and she has never wanted to marry him. Then, the King said if she finds another prince until tomorrow morning, she never marries him. The king thought she’ll never find a prince in that time.

She was so cross, she didn’t see the wobbly stone and she dropped her golden ball. Then, a frog came up and begun talking. She was surprised because she has never seen a frog who can speak. He said to her he bring her golden ball. However, he suggested some things. She accepted at once, because she thought it were in his dream… She was not kind.

The frog seeks her golden ball and gave her it. Immediately, she robbed and escaped her castle. The night, when she and her family took dinner, the door was rung. There was the frog. She taught the course her father. He welcomed the frog. However, it was not good for her. She wasn’t like the frog, because frog was ugly and slimier.

At last, she picked him up and threw out of her window. Then, she suddenly realized what she had done. She thought sorry and wanted she hasn’t killed him. In fortunately, the frog wasn’t died. She regretted about her behave. She was apologized the frog and kissed him! Then, surprisingly, the frog turned into a prince. He was so handsome prince. He thanked to her kiss. It was broken a spell. He asked her what he should do for her. She said to him to marry her and he accepted. I couldn’t believe! Was it happy for him? I hope it was good choice for him.

Book Review 1-14 "Ponocchio"

I read Pinocchio some days ago. Do you know this story? I think you know it, may be. The story was a puppet that was made by a piece of wood story. He is a puppet, but he can speak and has feelings. The person who made this puppet named him Pinocchio. He loved Pinocchio and always cherished him. Pinocchio wanted to be real boy, but one day he was spelled by a fairy. The spell was that as he tells a lie, his nose grew longer. One day, he met his father. That place they met was so strange. Surprisingly, there were inside a shark! They tried escape from inside the shark… And at last, Pinocchio became a real boy!

Pinocchio was known for many people in the world. He under go many things and at last, he became a real boy. It was good either him or his father. I thought to tell a lie was not good. But, not all lies are bad. Sometimes, we tell a lie for them sake. But, I don’t like to tell a lie and was taught a lie. Any way, the story was good.

Book Review 1-13

I was read the book which title was “AlADDIN & HIS MAGICAL LAMP.” I was read this book in Japanese, but I’ve never read in English. So, I lend this book.

It was famous story in the world. Do you know this book too? I hope you so because I won’t to write details as book review number 12. It was little tired. I spend much time…
Therefore, today, I introduce this story frankly.

This is the fantasy story. Aladdin, two Jennies, professed Aladdin’ uncle Abanazar, his brother and a princess Badr was main character. Aladdin was deceived Abanazar, but he got a special lamp and ring as good luck would have it. The lamp and ring inhabited Jennies. He made rich man and marry Badr thanks for Jennies help. But, Abanazar and his brother came to deprive for him the lamp. But, he and Badr killed them and live with happily.

Do you understand my frankly introducing? I hope so. They killed a person who hinder of them and got happy. That sounds was not good. I was surprised when they killed them easily. It was not good. But, last page’ their smile was looked very happy. I felt terrified of their smile by contraries. I knew their feelings. Abanazar and his brother was hindrance to them. But, to kill was worst thing, I thought. When I read this story in Japanese, Abanazar’s brother was not died. Probably I think so. He was lost in a flying pares and never come back earth… Let me see… anyway, he was might be dying. I don’t know whether he was dead or no!

Anyway, in either event he was poor man like Abanazar. I’m felt sorry about what had happened to them. But, like this story always evil was gone and hero became happy. “That’s the way of life the world,” one of my friends said me when I said about this story.

Book Review 1-12

I read this book. The title is Rumpelstiltskin. Do you know what does it mean? When I saw this title, I couldn't understand. And, the little old man’ face looked no gentle. Do you think so too? I think so. I thought the old man’ face was ill-natured. I felt I must identify what he is good or not. This is why I lend it.

First, this little man wasn’t appeared. Instead of him, a beautiful girl and her boasting and liar father appeared. He always boasted about everything. One day, the beautiful girl met a King. The King liked her when he saw her first time. He asked her name. Suddenly, her father was come and said her name. Moreover, he said too much. It was his fault. He said she can spin straw into gold. Naturally, it was lie. But, the King said he bring her to his castle. She and her father thought that was good chance to be a Queen. The next morning, they went to see the King.

Unexpectedly, the castle was so old and likely to broken at once. They thought the King must be short money. The King led her in a tiny room with straw. He said she is pretty enough marry, but if she can’t turn that straw into gold, she shall die. What a worst man!

She was disappointed because she couldn’t it unless do miracle. But, the miracle came. Yes! ‘He’ appeared. He came flying the night sky ridding on a wooden spoon. He has long white beard. He said her that what will her gave him if he spins that straw into gold. She said she give him her necklace. He was satisfied that answer. The next day, he was gone to leave gold. But, The King was not satisfied. He demanded more two times. Each time, the little man came and gone with left gold. But, final his asking was bad. He said her that will her give him if he spins that straw into gold. However, she hadn’t anything. Then, the little man said her if her promise him her first born child give him, he will spin. Oh, I noticed him slightly.

Finally, she said yes and the next day she waked up in the room with full of gold. The King said she is both beautiful and clever and he offered her to marry. What an egotistic man! But, she said yes. I couldn’t believe.

A year later, she gave birth to a beautiful boy. But, one dark night ‘He’ was coming! He said give me the boy. She was pleased him not to bring her boy again and again. Finally, the little man suggested one game. The game was to find out his name between 3 days. She always thought his name. But, if she recited all the names she knew, he shook his head. She was confused. One day the King who becoming her husband now said a strange story. When he goes hunting through dark forest, he heard a very strange song. A little man hopped on and sang… The finally day of the game, he came with smile. But, she said one word, he got angry and shot through the wall and never seen again.

Do you notice his name already? Yes! His name was this book’ title: Rumpelstiltskin! I don’t like the King even if he was a King! I can’t believe her to marry him because he should kill her!!! He is worst and selfish man. And, I understand about ‘him.’ He is not good and poor man!

Book Review 1-11 "Puss in Boots"

This story is very famous story as Japan. I've read this book when I was a child. I like this story so much.

I'm going to introduce this story. Generally, a man had three sons. When he died, the eldest brother took a mill and the middle brother got a donkey, and the youngest was left with a cat. He thought it's not fair, but this cat was incredible cat!

This cat could speak, it made him surprised, and the cat was so clever. His works were fantastic. Owe his help, the youngest brother married a King's daughter and he became a rich man and lived happily forever.

I thought this cat is so clever. I was surprised when the cat deceived an ogre and got rid of him. What's a clever cat! And it was very funny to wear boots!!!

Book Review 1-10 "The Swan Princess"

I read this book: "The Swan Princess." This book cover is beautiful, isn't it?
This story is that eleven princes turned into swans by a witch. Eleven princess's sister whose name is Eliza expelled a castle by her new mother. To tell the truth, the new mother is the witch!
One night, Eliza found a group of swans. Surprisingly, they shook their wings and instead of swans, her eleven brothers stood before her. She heard everything. They could return human only at night.
Then, she began to strip the nettle stems and weaving them together for her brothers because it was only way to broke witch's spell. The next day, she met a King and he decided to take Eliza back to his palace and looked after her. He is a kind man. They began to love each other. They decided to marry, but his Archbishop didn't agree because he thought Eliza is a witch. So, Eliza was taken back to prison. She felt miserable.
However, then, eleven swans swooped down, and Eliza could throw the shirts over them. And, the swans turned into human! The witch's spell was broken and Eliza could begin to speak again. She talked the King everything and they got marry and lived happily.
I like this illustration. It's really beautiful. I really enjoyed reading this book. Please read it. I recommend you!
